As a rule, you should always store food in airtight containers and clean up all spills and crumbs promptly. You’ll also want to keep a clean yard and consider keeping shrubs and trees trimmed so that they don’t provide easy access points for pests. Although your rodent control specialist will undoubtedly look for the point of entry, you may also need to keep an eye on the perimeter of your home to spot any holes or other vulnerabilities. If you do see any entry points, plugging them with quick-drying cement or wire mesh can provide an easy solution.
Of course, DIY pest control won’t be nearly as effective as calling in the professionals. A couple of mousetraps won’t do the trick if you’re dealing with more than a single rodent.
